FOUNDER

Kyle Lugar is the founder of VELOX Pitching Co. and brings a deep background in both playing and coaching to his work with athletes. He began his baseball career at Center Line High School, where he was a four-year varsity player. After graduating, he signed with The College of Central Florida under legendary coach Marty Smith. Following his sophomore year, Kyle transferred to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the Sunshine State Conference before an injury sidelined him after his junior year. He completed his collegiate career at Middle Georgia State University and went on to play professionally for two seasons in the United Shore Professional Baseball League.

Kyle has spent the past six years developing pitchers as both a private instructor and coach. He began coaching as an assistant at Bloomfield High School and Rochester High School before becoming the Head Coach at Cranbrook Kingswoods. He currently serves as the Director of Pitching Development at Macomb Community College, where he has worked alongside Taylor Gzelakowski to help lead the program to back-to-back conference championships. Through VELOX Pitching, Kyle applies his experience to build structured, results-driven training that focuses on velocity, command, and long-term arm health.

“I built VELOX Pitching around a simple standard—develop pitchers the right way. My focus is on efficient mechanics, building velocity, and protecting long-term arm health so athletes can continue to improve and perform at a higher level. Every session is structured with purpose, and I expect consistency, accountability, and a commitment to getting better every day.”

our philosophy

Our philosophy is built on developing complete pitchers through efficient movement, consistent repetition, and purposeful training. We emphasize mechanics that translate to velocity, command that holds under pressure, and arm care that supports long-term durability. Every aspect of training is structured with intent—no wasted reps, no shortcuts—so athletes can build real, sustainable progress. The goal isn’t just to throw harder, but to develop pitchers who can repeat, compete, and perform at a high level over time.

Lasting impact

Our goal is to create a lasting impact by developing disciplined athletes who carry strong habits, confidence, and work ethic beyond the field. The lessons built here are meant to translate into long-term success—both in the game and in life.
